New album completed

On January 29^th, after 9 days of recording and mixing, My Silent Wake completed their new album. Ian describes the album as having “a Shadow of Sorrow feel to it”. Despite a good number of songs there are no particularly long songs, the longest being a mere 7 minutes. Kate and Steve have shared engineering duties. Watch this space for more news.

These were previously only available on a limited edition DVD, but may also appear on a future release. Further videos are soon to be recorded including one for ‘Tunnels’, to be directed by Andy Spencer.

Latest gigs & Drummers

Unfortunately MSW are unable to appear at gigs planned for the near future. This is due to a temporary lack of a drummer. However the other bands on the bill will still be there. See Gig Guide page for latest details or check the band’s MySpace page: www.myspace.com/mysilentwake

Steve has laid down his MSW sticks as he has now got a new job and will be unable to continue live appearances. The band wishes him well and will still see him regularly.

At the end of a summer of European festival appearances the band played at Flevo Festival (Holland) and Destruction Fest (London)

Split album with The Drowning
In July 09 the band recorded 4 new tracks for their next release - a split album with The Drowning www.myspace.com/thedrowninguk to be released in May 2010 by Bombworks Records. Both bands will be contributing 4 tracks. This disc includes over 40 minutes of new MSW music as well as over 30 minutes from The Drowning. MSW tracks include:

‘Bleak Endless Winter’ – which has featured as part of recent live performances, including at Destruction Fest in London found on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2roF86428o

‘I Am Eternity’ – a cover of the Attrition song. This track can be heard on the current MSW MySpace profile page. The performance includes vocals from Martin & Sin of Attrition, alongside Ian & Kate.

‘Rebirth’ – the longest MSW song to date!

Artwork will be produced by Matt of Darkwaveart. The Drowning will be contributing a cover of a MSW song as one of their 4 tracks.

Attrition tribute album
